Canada Deserves Better: A Call to End Divisive Politics

Politics in Canada has become increasingly divisive—and it’s hurting us.

Our four major political parties—Liberal, Conservative, NDP, and Bloc Québécois—spend more time pointing fingers than solving problems. Instead of working together to address the real issues facing Canadians—homelessness, the rising cost of living, affordability, and increasing crime—they engage in a never-ending blame game. The House of Commons and committee rooms have become battlegrounds, not places of progress.

This isn’t leadership. It’s theatre.

And Canadians deserve better.

We deserve leaders who put country before party, who understand that collaboration isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom. Imagine what could be accomplished if our elected officials worked together in committees, across the aisle, and in the House to find viable, long-term solutions to the challenges we face. Imagine a Canada where leadership is measured not by soundbites, but by results.

I don’t pretend to be an economist—in fact, I’ll be the first to admit that economics isn’t my strong suit. But I do believe, with every fibre of my being, that Canada has the potential to be a global leader and an economic powerhouse. We have the resources, the talent, and the diversity to lead the world in innovation, sustainability, and social equity.

What we lack is visionary leadership—leadership that’s courageous enough to rise above partisanship and focus on building a better future for all Canadians.

This is a call to action—not just for politicians, but for all of us. We need to demand better. We need to expect more. And we need to support leaders who are willing to work together, not tear each other down.

Let’s start the conversation.
